30 Day Fitness Challenge - begins Dec 1st!

Hey everyone,

Kaci and I are doing our first 30 Day Fitness Challenge!  We are taking signups now (via Facebook) and it’s filling up fast as we are only taking 10 participants this time around.

There is some cost involved to be a participant as we have these requirements:

- Must use a Beachbody.com workout routine (i.e. - P90X, Insanity, Body Gospel, etc)

- Must use Shakeology.  It’s all about enhanced fitness levels and wellness…you’ll see once you start it.

- Follow the P90X Diet plan (specifically the Fat Shredder phase).  We are guessing this will require a trip to the grocery store.

There you have it.  Why December 1st?  Why not?  Instead of putting 15lbs on over the Holidays why not shed 15lbs!?!?!

Oh, The Places We Workout

Well, I haven’t posted anything for awhile so this is definitely overdue! We are still out on tour right now, but it is finally starting to wind down. In about a month we will finally be home back in Nashville…..yee haw!!

Life on the road is tough in the first place, but trying to stay healthy on the road is tough plus a million. As far as eating goes we have let the reins loosen a little and have not been quite as strict as we had been. Trying to get back on track somewhat is extremely hard and I’m guessing until we get home, won’t. Just being honest.

We have done well with our workouts though. Sometimes we do have to take 1-2 off because of driving or just a very busy day, but we get right back on track. We always have people ask, “How do you workout on the road?” Well, it’s easy, we have portable workouts like P90X and Insanity and we take our equipment with us. Sometimes we might have to switch around days because there may not be access to a doorway for our pull-up bars. Here are some of the crazy places we have worked out on this tour…..a hotel stairwell landing, a hotel hallway, outside patio area, a hotel room, poolside, a church, a garage, and many more I can’t think of! Just give us a little room & maybe a doorway & we can do it!

The last post…ugh!

Well the last post didn’t keep any of my data in the table format that it allowed me to create it in!  Just know, if you are trying to decipher the last post, that each entry is the measurement take (i.e. - chest, waist, etc), then the measurement taken Sept 13th, and finally the measurement taken Oct 11th.

Monthly measurement - losses but not maximum

Today we finally had enough time off (we are still out on tour) to take our measurements and calculate our body fat.  So here is my (Jeremy’s) numbers and my losses since September 13th:

I was really hoping to be under 10% Body Fat by this time BUT life on the road has been taking it’s toll.  Sometimes we don’t have time to workout because we have a long drive to our next show or there just isn’t a place to workout.  There’s also the issue of when promoters or host families make us a meal…what can one do?  Turn it down?  That would be terribly rude and we just work through it as wisely as we can.

So although I’m disappointed that my numbers aren’t better…I’m happy that I’m still moving forward!

Goodbye fat shredder!!!

Tomorrow is the last day of my fat shredder phase and I’m pumped!!!  Kaci finished earlier this month as she had made it to a good place…I wanted to burn more of the extra off.

Right now I’m really struggling to make it through the days as my fat stores are getting low and my carb intake is low…so I’ve come to the end of the line for the fat shredder phase.  Next phase will take my carb intake up 10% while cutting proteins back 10%

Scary thing is…we’ve been on the road for a month and a half now and our weigh in and measurement is coming up Oct 1st too.  I think I’ve been doing pretty good considering we are living out of a suitcases with a coleman cooler in the back of the Excursion but we will see what the body fat percentage and measurements look like Saturday!

6 Week Results

Well, I just wanted to let you all know where I’m at as of 9/13/11 with my numbers and all that good stuff. After 6 weeks of doing a Fat Shredder diet of 50% protein, 30% carbs, and 20% fat this is where I’m at:

Lost about 3lbs
Lost 1” around chest
Lost 1/2” around waist
Lost 3/4” around navel
Lost 3/4” around hips
Lost 3/4” from each thigh
Gained 1/4” on each arm/bicep

I also lost 3% body fat!!

So, I have been doing Insanity & P90X for about 14 months now. I don’t have my beginning numbers, but I do know I have lost several inches from all parts of my body. The awesome things is though is that in just 6 weeks of changing the way I eat & adding Shakeology in everyday, I have seen a huge change in the way I look & feel. I have also seen huge gains in my pull-ups & have upped my weights in almost everything!

About 2 weeks ago I did change to the second phase of the diet which is 40% protein, 40% carbs, and 20% fat. I love this phase!!! Lower protein & more GOOD carbs rocks!!
